Open Access Policy

Virtual Economics is a fully open-access scholarly journal. All content is made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without financial, legal or technical barriers to access.

Virtual Economics operates on the principle that the results of scholarly research should be accessible to the widest possible audience. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and link to the full texts of articles without prior permission from the publisher or the authors, provided that appropriate attribution is given.

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). This licence permits use, sharing, distribution and reproduction in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that the original work is properly cited, a link to the licence is supplied and any modifications are clearly indicated.

This open access policy is consistent with the definition of open access established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), which permits users to freely access, use and reuse scholarly literature with proper attribution to the original source.

Authors retain copyright in their work. Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the publisher a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute and make the article publicly available as part of Virtual Economics and to identify itself as the original publisher.

No embargo period is applied. Articles are accessible immediately upon publication and remain permanently available on the Virtual Economics website.

Authors may deposit the published version of their article (Version of Record) in institutional or subject repositories, on personal webpages and on research networking platforms, provided that full bibliographic details and a link to the official Virtual Economics webpage and DOI are included.

No additional contractual terms, technological protection measures or access conditions are used to restrict lawful reuse beyond those defined by the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Virtual Economics supports transparent scholarly communication and the open dissemination of scientific knowledge in accordance with internationally recognised principles of open access publishing.
