Author Publishing Agreement
In order to publish an article in Virtual Economics, authors are required to complete and sign an Author Publishing Agreement after their manuscript has been accepted for publication.
The agreement identifies the manuscript and its authors and confirms that the submitted work is original, has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. By signing the agreement, the author(s) warrant that the manuscript does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties, does not contain unlawful or plagiarised material and that all necessary permissions, ethical approvals and consents required for the research have been obtained.
The agreement confirms that all listed authors have made a genuine scholarly contribution to the work, have approved the final version of the manuscript and consent to its submission and publication. It also requires the disclosure of funding sources, acknowledgements, conflicts of interest and, where applicable, information concerning the availability of research data.
Authors retain copyright in their work. By signing the agreement, the author(s) grant The London Academy of Science and Business a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce, distribute and make the article publicly available as part of Virtual Economics and to identify itself as the original publisher. The article is published as open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0), which permits reuse of the material, including commercial reuse, provided that appropriate attribution is given and the original publication is cited.
The publisher may carry out copyediting, typesetting and formatting necessary for publication, while preserving the scientific meaning and integrity of the work. Authors are provided with publication proofs for review and approval prior to publication. The published article and its bibliographic metadata may be indexed, deposited and preserved in abstracting and indexing services, repositories, archiving systems and DOI registration agencies.
The corresponding author signs the agreement on behalf of all co-authors and confirms that all co-authors have been informed of the submission, have approved the manuscript and consent to its publication and licensing. All authors remain jointly responsible for the content of the work.
The agreement also provides that authors are responsible for breaches of the warranties given in the agreement, including cases such as plagiarism, copyright infringement, unlawful content or misrepresentation of authorship.
The agreement becomes effective upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication and must be received by the editorial office before the article can proceed to production.
